Take a moment for yourself today and calm down a little… while you’re doing that, you can read these little tidbits of wisdom!

As the year begins to wind down, it’s important to maintain a positive attitude. I personally think it is better to keep fighting at the end of the year rather than giving up and simply riding the wave that is school. So, my advice to you all is to attack this 4th nine weeks and show it who’s boss! Make goals for yourself! Whether it be raising your year-to-date grade or even coming into school with a better attitude than yesterday, find something about your day that you despise and turn it around!

Road rage is super common, maybe even too common. The other day I witnessed a man get out of his car to go knock on another car’s window and yell at the driver! Shortly after that, I saw two men at Speedway having a strongly worded argument with obscene gestures. Some people, thankfully, have less extreme road rage but still get angry when another driver is reckless or inconsiderate. Road rage is an unavoidable problem; drivers aren’t getting any better and most people are becoming more and more irritable. My suggestion is to consider the other driver’s situation. Maybe they’re late to their job interview or trying to get to the hospital for an emergency. While reckless driving is never justified, giving others the finger is also not justified. Always remember that you can control your actions and emotions.

Life can get us down. Little things can seem like big problems when we focus on them too much. I truly believe that unhappy people let their problems get them down while happy people take their problems head on. My challenge to you all today is to look at life a little differently. Smile more, say hi to people in the hallway, give others and your work 100% attention and effort. Spend time with the people who make you better, not hold you down. Little things like getting out of bed and being productive make a difference in our happiness. So, evaluate your attitude and make a change!
