An Overview on the Upcoming Baseball Season

With baseball season approaching, we wanted to get baseball players Ayden Hall, Connor McGarry, and Cade McGarry’s thoughts about what is to come for the year. Ayden Hall plays shortstop and pitcher; he is also a senior this coming season. Connor McGarry is also a senior for the 2022 season, and he is a catcher for the Tornadoes. Lastly, Cade McGarry is a sophomore and plays catcher as well.
How long have you played baseball for?
Ayden Hall: “I’ve been playing baseball since I was about 3-4 years old.”
Connor McGarry: “I’ve been playing for 12 years.”
Cade McGarry: “I’ve been playing for 10 years.”
Who has been the most influential in your baseball career?
Ayden Hall: “The most influential people in my baseball career are my dad and grandpa.”
Connor McGarry: “All of my catching coaches”
Cade McGarry: “The most influential person for me would be my brother, Connor”
What are your goals for the season?
Ayden Hall: “To win the ECOL, OVAC, and make a deep tournament run and go to state.”
Connor McGarry: “To beat New Philadelphia both times and make it far in the playoffs.”
Cade McGarry: “My goal for the season is to try to get on varsity and get a little playing time”
What motivates you the most?
Ayden Hall: “My family, coaches and teammates motivate me the most.”
Connor McGarry: “Being the best I can for my team.”
Cade McGarry: “What motivates me the most is that I know I need to give it my all for my teammates”
What would you consider a successful season?
Ayden Hall: “Going undefeated and winning the state championship.”
Connor McGarry: “Having a winning record and having fun with my team”
Cade McGarry: “I would say a successful season would be to have a lot of wins and to beat our rivals”
Are you looking forward to the new turf field?
Ayden Hall: “Yes, playing on turf is a lot of fun, and I’m excited that we have the opportunity to have it on our home field.”
Connor McGarry: “Yes, I am very excited!”
Cade McGarry: “Yes, I think that it will be awesome!”
What are your goals for the team this year? (Upperclassmen)
Ayden Hall: ““To get better each and every day and make history.”
Connor McGarry: “To improve after each game”
Are you planning to play in college? (Upperclassmen)
Ayden Hall: “I am not sure yet.”
Connor McGarry: “No, I don’t plan on playing in college”
How have the upperclassmen affected your experience? (Underclassmen)
Cade McGarry: “The upperclassman have showed me the way to play the game of baseball the right way and to even have a lot of fun while playing it”
