College is the definition of freedom for some newly graduated high school students and the reason for gray hairs on some parents. Colleges are seen as tourist traps for eager civilians who dream of a life walking the hallowed grounds of these campuses. Based on my unqualified opinion, this article outlines some of the most beautiful college campuses in the USA.
Berry College is nestled in a rural setting within Georgia. It has held the title of the world’s largest college campus in one area, with over 27,000 acres owned by Berry College. Reflecting pools, gothic foundations, and buildings are the background for the lucky students who decide to attend this institution.
The University of Washington in Seattle, Washington is known by many for its infamous dining hall that played as the Great Hall in many critically acclaimed Harry Potter movies. As spring rolls around, many students can be found on the quad, admiring all 29 Yoshino cherry trees and their blossoming baby pink petals.
Snuggled within our very own state, Ohio, is Kenyon College. Kenyon has secured one of the most dreamy campus walks with their 10-foot wide Middle Path that glows fiery orange in the fall by the enormous trees. Following the unbeaten path, one would find the Victorian Gothic Ascension Hall, which resembles a castle.
Vanderbilt University is situated just on the outskirts of Nashville and doubles as a vast arboretum. It holds more than 170 species of trees throughout 300 acres, allowing many students and visitors to forget that the campus is in a city.
And I would be kidding myself if I never included my favorite college, Yale University, nuzzled within New Haven, Connecticut. While deep in the city, it still boasts impressive architectural features. The most remarkable quality of Yale University is one of its many libraries. Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library is revolutionary. It is the home to an original Gutenberg Bible and many precious items to the world. It is set as a six-story glassed enclosed building with translucent-grained marble panels for windows due to the sensitivity to many objects within the structure.
