With October 27th coming up, Taylor Swift is releasing her album 1989. Therefore, I will be rating each song on the album as of now.
- “Welcome to New York” is such a banger to start out the album. Not only does this song welcome Taylor to New York, but it just makes you want to dance. 8/10
- “Blank Space” is such a classic song; it just takes me back to 2014, dancing with my best friend. If you don’t know every lyric to this song, where have you been? 10/10
- “Style” has to be one of my favorites. The instrumentals, her vocal range, and the lyrics—I have one word to describe this song: perfect. 10/10
- “Out of the Woods” is one of those top-tier songs. I just want to breathe this song 24/7. The chorus is just so memorable and makes me want to scream the lyrics too. 9/10
- “All You Had to Do Was Stay” is sadly not one of my favorites. Although it is a bop, it is not as amazing as some of her other songs. 6/10
- “Shake It Off” is just one of her masterpieces. This song is just engraved in my head, along with every beat. Not only does it make me dance and sing, but I am positive it will make other people sing and dance as well. 10/10
- “I Wish You Would” is so underrated. This is such a good song with amazing lyrics. If you are going through a breakup, this is the song to go to. 10/10
- “Bad Blood” is the Ultimate Revenge song. This song brings out a side of me I didn’t even know I had. This is a song you need to scream with your best friend at least once in your life. 9/10
- “Wildest Dreams” is a good song. I will admit, this song is so overplayed. It’s not a bad song; I just don’t feel as strongly about this song as I do others. 5/10
- “How You Get the Girl” is the reason I will never let a man treat me badly. Taylor literally wrote a song showing how to get the girl. Never settle for less. 8/10
- “This Love” just takes me to a whole new world. I am lifted off the ground when I hear the instrumentals to this song. In the future, if this is my wedding song, I wouldn’t even be surprised. 10/10
- “I Know Places” honestly starts out a little mysterious. Taylor is so clever in this song. It makes me feel as if I am going to solve a mystery or something. Plus, her vocals are angelic in this. 8/10
- “Clean” is a decent song; this song does not have anything special to entertain me. 6/10
- “Wonderland” is one of my favorites as well. This song makes me feel so special since she mentions green eyes, and I have green eyes. So, pretty much, she knows me. 9/10
- “You Are In Love” is a good song. It’s not played as much as other songs, and it is a good song, just not my favorite. A little repetitive. 6/10
- “New Romantics” is such a good song. This song brings me back to life. If I am ever in a bad mood, play this song, and I will be myself again. 10/10
My overall rating of this album is an 8/10. Thank you, Taylor Swift, for rerecording this album for your fans’ enjoyment.
