Within the last few months, you’ve probably heard or seen someone talk about Fortnite. The popular battle royale recently shot up in popularity again after they brought the “OG map” back into the game. Because of this, many people like ourselves have been playing Fortnite like it’s 2018. On top of all this, they’ve added three new games aside from Battle Royale into Fortnite, creating a sort of metaverse. So basically, the game is back to being fun and exciting with all the new content that has been added, but how could we talk about Fortnite without mentioning its best feature? The staple that comes around once a year, the top tier pinnacle of the game itself… the Christmas updates. I cannot explain to you the level of joy and excitement Christmas time in Fortnite brings. During the holiday season, most people spend quality time with their families, but not me though. Instead, I am cooped up in the basement for days at a time trying to unlock all the free Christmas gifts, and I have no regrets. The amount of content the game adds during the Christmas season is astronomical. One of the biggest aspects are the Christmas skins. For those who do not know, skin just means the character/outfit you play as, and yes they cost real-life money to obtain. Players foam at the mouth waiting for Christmas to roll around so they can buy the festive skin they’ve been waiting for since last year. Fortnite makes dumb money off of these skins. So, today Camryn and I will be giving the rundown on which Christmas skins are giving and which ones you should stay far away from.
#1. Nog Ops
Tegan: This skin is a classic. She is pretty basic, but I’m ok with that. I like her sweater and her pants are a cool color. My only issue with this skin is that literally everybody seems to own her, so I see her way too much. I’m giving her an 8/10.
Camryn: This skin is probably the one that I would think of when I think of Fortnite Christmas. I think it’s cute. Why does literally everybody own it though?? I also give her an 8/10
#2. Christmas Doggo
Tegan: Prayers for anyone who actually bought this skin. I get that people like dogs, but this is no dog. It’s pretty much a human with a dog’s face, and the face isn’t even cute. From the back, it looks fine, but I cannot get over how the front looks. 3/10
Camryn: Christmas Doggo has to be the scariest thing I’ve ever seen. This seems to be the overall consensus because our friend Dylan Reed also has a severe hatred for this scary skin. 1/10
#3. Crackshot
Tegan: Believe it or not, I actually like this skin. It is a take on a nutcracker. Yes, the head is huge and also a little creepy, but I like it for some reason. I think it is unique. 7/10
Camryn: From a big Nutcracker fan, I actually like this skin as well. I will admit that it’s a bit disturbing looking, but you could always look past that. 9/10
#4. Merry Marauder
Tegan: I lowkey get hungry when I look at this skin because it looks so scrumptious. The way that it actually looks like a cookie is astounding. I do have to say, I hate the female version of this skin because it looks nasty. But I will give Merry Marauder a 6/10
Camryn: In my opposition to Tegan’s opinion, this skin is ghastly. I apologize for this strong opinion, but it is actually concerning if you use this skin. That’s all I will say on this matter. 1/10
#5. Codenamed Elf
Tegan: I used to really like this skin until I looked at it too hard and now I hate it. Something about the swoop of his hair urks me to my core. Nobody should have a swoop that large. 4/10
Camryn: This skin is okay. Would I use it? Probably not. I will agree that the hair swoop is a bit over the top. 6/10
#6. Lt. Evergreen
Tegan: This skin is very pine-like and I love that about it. The issue is that it was given away for free, so literally everyone has it. The level of anger I feel when I see one in a game is indescribable. This skin makes me hurl. For that reason, I’m giving it a 7/10
Camryn: I am biased towards this skin since it’s literally one of the only skins I own in the game. That is because it was free. It has the right idea, but it’s undeniably ugly. 8/10
#7. Wooly Warrior
Tegan: Don’t even get me started on Wooly. Again, she was another free skin that everyone owns, except unlike Lt. Evergreen, who looks awful. It looks as if a Fortnite character had been eaten by a wooly mammoth and her head is poking through the mouth. Every time I see her, I shed tears of anger. 3/10
Camryn: I hate this skin with a passion. It is also one of the very few skins that I own, and I absolutely refuse to use it. It is just not appealing to look at. 2/10
#8. Gingerbread Raider
Tegan: This skin is great, I think it is a really good mix of Fortnite and Christmas. It is a remake of an older skin, but it looks good so I’m fine with it. Not to mention she has a huge personality. 9/10
Camryn: This skin is not the worst, but she’s also not the best. That’s all I can say about this. 5/10
We have to mention that fellow student Dylan Reed loves the Minty Christmas Elf skin because it reeks of nighttime Christmas vibes, and we agree. So there you have it. Now, you know our stance on some of the most popular Fortnite Christmas skins. Thank you for reading. We had fun dissecting why these skins were bad or good.
