School is back in session for many teachers and students, which is usually the signal of the fall season, yet the air in many regions has not recovered from its summer oppression. The midday heat still sticks to our skin, and the buzzing mosquitoes have not let us go from their wrath.
However, the official start of Fall will begin in about 18 days (since this was written on September 4th). There will soon be a crispness to the air throughout the ENTIRE day that many will appreciate. Even though the fall drinks are out at Starbucks and many other establishments, the bothersome summer weather has yet to scurry away in preparation for winter. The prelude to winter, fall, has yet to hit the world completely.
However, many people are beginning to become excited about fall itself. And what is more “fall” than throwing on an episode of Gilmore Girls and cozying up with a new fall release?
These are the top three most anticipated Romance books for fall in 2024.
- Wild Eyes by Elsie Silver just came out on September 3rd, 2024
-
- This is about a highly famous country singer, Skylar Stone, who meets Weston Belmont in the small town of Rose Hill. Weston is a horse trainer within the small town who supports and loves her in a way no one ever has.
-
- This is an instant-love situation. An instant-love trope is where the hero and heroine meet, and it is love at first sight. They go through the turmoil that inevitably follows TOGETHER.
-
- This is a cute, small-town romance that JUST hit the shelves this week and has been projected to be one of the most anticipated releases of the fall of 2024.
-
- I drove all thirty minutes between the high school and Books-a-Million on Tuesday evening and snatched this book right off the shelves.
-
- I can’t wait to dive into this book while the rain patters against my windows and the leaves caress the grass.
- Nothing Like the Movies- Lynn Painter
-
- This is a sequel to Better than the Movies, which was released a couple of years ago and made absolute waves in the romance world. Although marketed as a Young Adult romance, it is geared towards all ages, from teenagers to adults.
-
- This is about Wes Bennet and Liz Buxbuam, who have fallen in love and are dating. It starts right as their college careers are about to begin. Tragedy strikes, and the fallout of such an occurrence leaves Wes reeling without Liz.
-
- This book is about winning the girl back, and Wes knows precisely what to do to win Liz back…or at least we hope he does.
-
- This book comes out on October 1st, 2024, and many BookTokers have already used Gracie Abrams’s song, “I Love You, I’m Sorry,” to emulate the emotions felt within this book.
-
- I cannot wait to read this when my senior year fall activities are slowly diminishing, and Halloween preparations have begun. I received the first book, Better than the Movies, for my 16th birthday from a friend who even went to the lengths of annotating the book for me. And since I will turn 18 before the book comes out, I cannot wait for the same present this year.
- My Vampire Plus-One- Jenna Levine
-
- This is the second book in an interconnected series. The first book, My Roommate is a Vampire, deals with Cassie, an artist, and Frederick, a vampire. The two become friends after he asks her for assistance in becoming modern, not to reveal his identity. This book was charming and utterly perfect if you want a quick read.
-
- This book is about a side character from the first book, Reginald, who offered much-needed comedic relief in the previous book. It centers on Amelia Collins, a successful woman tired of the probing questions from her relatives about her nonexistent love life. To remedy the situation, she asked Reginald to be her FAKE BOYFRIEND.
-
- This ties in with the trope of fake dating, beloved by many because the “fake” part never seems to stick.
-
- This book comes out on September 24th, 2024, which is a perfect time to grab it off the shelves of many bookstores and read it during or before the spooky Halloween season arrives.
These were my top three most anticipated books of the fall season. I hope you read this article and decide to grab one of these books and exchange your screen time for reading time! Happy reading!
