Have you guys heard about Cracker Barrel’s brand remodel? Well, if you didn’t, you will hear about it today. Cracker Barrel just recently released their new logo along with some interior changes. These changes have caused lots of controversy all throughout the United States. People are not happy with the company’s changes made by its CEO.
When Cracker Barrel changed its logo on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, one of the most controversial changes to it with the people was that they got rid of the old man in the wicker rocking chair with his arm resting on a wooden barrel. Cracker Barrel states that, “Dan Evins ‘Uncle Herschel’ will remain an integral part of its identity”(CBS News). Another controversial change to Cracker Barrel with the people is the interior changes. The people say, “they think that they took all of the classic character out of the interior and made it very generic looking and feeling”(CBS News). Also, President Trump has spoken about Cracker Barrel’s logo redesign and does not approve of it either. Trump says, “they should ditch the new logo and go back to the old one, and that Cracker Barrel should admit their mistake”(CBS News).
Secondly, as of Tuesday, August 26, 2025 of this week, Cracker Barrel has gone back to its old logo. Since they have done so, they have received significantly fewer complaints. Cracker Barrel states, “We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away, and the ‘Old Timer’ will remain” (NBC News). Trump congratulates Cracker Barrel on going back to their ‘Old Timer’ logo. Trump says, “Congratulations, ‘Cracker Barrel’ on changing your logo back to what it was. All of your fans very much appreciate it. Good luck in the future. Make lots of money and most importantly, make your customers happy again!”(Fox Business.com). Cracker Barrels Chief Marketing officer Sarah Moore was recently on Fox News blaming citizens for the Cracker Barrel remodel because they were asking for it. Sarah Moore states, “that the Tennessee-based restaurant chain’s ongoing transformation incorporates not only customer feedback but also employee input”(Fox News.com).
Finally, Cracker Barrel has just released the amount of money they spent to do their rebrand; that exact amount of money is “$700 Million”(pbs.org). Cracker Barrel also stated that this rebrand caused its restaurant to lose some value. Cracker Barrel says, “When they unveiled their new logo last week as part of an ongoing brand refresh, they wouldn’t have expected the marketing move to spark a public furor and cause the restaurant chain’s value to sink by nearly $100 million”(cbs news.com). Taylor Budowich, a deputy White House chief of staff, got involved with Cracker Barrel too. Taylor Budowich states,“ he’d spoken with people at Cracker Barrel by phone Tuesday about the issue and said, “They thanked President Trump for weighing in on the issue of their iconic ‘original’ logo.””(NBC News).`
In conclusion, Cracker Barrel’s logo redesign and interior changes were a mistake on their part and caused a lot of drama with all the people in the world. But at the end of the day, the people ended up winning over all. Going along with that, Cracker Barrel’s CEO had to admit their mistake in the end. So it was a win for us, the people.
