The Cleveland Browns have it all. A billion-dollar facility, an impressive roster, and one of the most dedicated fanbases in the NFL. One thing they don’t have, though, is success. It’s certainly disheartening as a life-long Browns fan to see the team that I have supported all of my years fail time and time again. One may think that the many new additions to the team would ensure some success, but that is not what fans are seeing so far.
Don’t just take my word for it, though. I also have the opinion of die-hard Browns fan and former Crimsonian staff-writer Allyson Jones, who also happens to be my cousin. She claims, “We’re three games in, and while the first two games were tough to watch, our win against the Packers has filled me with the same delusional optimism that I know and love as a Browns fan. Our defense is looking great, and our offense is starting to get some momentum going thanks to our Buckeye, Quinshon Judkins. Dare I say, Super Bowl contenders?”
The 2025 Cleveland Browns are 1-2 so far this season, and are very difficult to read. On one hand, they have a very good defense that has a smothering line and elite edge rushers that have the ability to hold opponents to very few scores. However, the offense has yet to find their rhythm. Their special teams are currently a work in progress, as the team is still looking for a reliable kicker and have poor coverage on punt returns.
Offensively, the team has an aging veteran quarterback that is unable to find open receivers in Joe Flacco. This downside can be made up with the fact that Quinshon Junkins, the rookie running back, is showing much promise. Defensively, Myles Garrett is having a Pro Bowl year with four sacks already. Rookies Mason Graham and Carson Schwesinger are also off to great starts and look promising to the team.
To summarize, the Browns have honestly improved from last year with their record of 3-14. I believe that they will make improvements this year, but they are actually just building for next season’s success.
