The September 2025 Tuscarawas Fair was another great one. Whether someone is completely new to the fair or has been there many times before, what happened at the fair this year?
First of all, in order to get into the fair, tickets were $5 per person. After paying, patrons got a colorful stamp on their arm to show they paid to get in. Once the fee was taken care of, it was time to explore behind the gate.
The fair itself was a large event with many noticeable details. At a distance, the largest things there were the rides. Anyone who enjoys going for a wild ride would have surely wanted to participate. Tickets for rides were about $6 per ride, and if someone wished to ride all day, it was $20 for a wristband.
Some of the most notable rides were Pharaoh’s Fury, the ark that sways to big heights from side to side, and Super Shot, the dropper ride that will have your heart pumping. There were also some more older style rides, such as the Ferris Wheel and brand new this year, the EXPO WHEEL with LEDs, and also a Merry-go-round. Along with the teens and young adults, there were also rides for the little kids, such as Dizzy Dogs, Skyfighter, Flying Dragoon, and Helicopter.
For those who were not interested in the rides, maybe the booths were more their thing. There were concession booths where individuals sell their own items. Some notable concessions included a honey stand, jewelry, cooking supplies, and 3D printed items. Many of the 3D printed items included video game themes such as Dungeons and Dragons, Minecraft, and Pokémon. There were also a few other stands that were advertising places such as Rural King.
Along with the concession and advertising booths, there were many 4-H booths displaying projects that children in this age group spent a lot of time working on. These projects were colorful and very DIY looking. Some may contain topics of interest that intrigue many people.
There were also many other things on display at the fair, such as artwork and competition winners. Many of these battles included the best pie, the tallest sunflower, or the heaviest pumpkin.
Some of the more lively competitions and shows include the animals. The fair had quite a selection of them. Beef and dairy cows, pigs, rabbits, goats, horses, and sheep were all at the fair. People who wanted to see them got a good sense of agriculture in the area. Other people might have found more interest in the baby animals shown off at the McDonald’s farm.
For people who were interested in more performances, the bands performed at the fair this year, including the Dover High School Band. The Dover band performed on Tuesday at 6pm, and they did an excellent job. For those who were from other schools, bands and cheerleaders from other Tuscarawas County schools performed for excited fans.
Last, but definitely not least, the fair is always famous for its food. This year was no exception. There was a large range of BBQ, deep-fried meals, and treats. The food stands had kettle corn, French fries, stromboli, gyros, Italian sausage, pizza, corn dogs with different combinations, lemonade, ice cream, cotton candy, funnel cakes, and elephant ears.
All of these attractions drew many people in, whether it was the sense of competition, excitement, fun, or some really great food. It was an excellent year for the Tuscarawas County Fair.
