On March 1st, 2026, Adopt Me, the hit Roblox game, came out with the long-awaited new egg, the Endangered egg. This egg contains 10 new endangered pets. In Adopt Me, you can hatch eggs and take care of the pets you hatch. Adopt Me developers have created this egg to bring awareness to these animals.
To highlight each animal included in the egg, we’ll go in order from common, uncommon, rare, ultra-rare, and legendary.
Starting with the Galapagos sea lion, found in the Galapagos Islands, they are very social animals who are considered endangered because of their rapid population decline from the El Niño years. However, they are considered to have a healthy protected population under strong protection.
California condors are America’s largest land birds, having up to a 9.5-foot wingspan. These giant birds almost went extinct in 1987, but have been brought back through captive breeding and release. Now their population is up to over 560, but they are still threatened by lead poisoning, habitat loss, and microtrash ingestion.
Black tigers are found mostly in India. These tigers are a variant of Bengal tigers that have a genetic mutation. This mutation only survives through inbreeding, which leads to there being only around 30-40 of the species currently roaming. They have been endangered for approximately 10+ years.
Found in New Zealand, kakapos are flightless parrots who can have lifespans of around 95 years. They are a greenish yellow color, ranging from 23 to 25 inches long. These birds are critically endangered, with only about 236 left. Kakapos only mate once every 4-5 years, which doesn’t help their endangered population.
Mexican wolves, also known as “El lobo”, are a subspecies of grey wolves. They are mostly found in New Mexico and Arizona. They have been endangered since 1976. There are around 319 of the species left because of the intense persecution from humans.
Black rhinos are slightly smaller than the commonly known white rhinos. Black rhinos have poor eyesight, so they have an excellent sense of smell and hearing. There are about 6,788 black rhinos; however, they still remain critically endangered because of poaching and habitat loss.
Black-footed ferrets are declining in population since their prey is dwindling. The ferrets are also attracting non-native diseases. There are fewer than 400 that remain in the wild today. These ferrets were announced ‘extinct’ in 1979, but went back to ‘endangered’ in 1982.
Pangolins are the only mammals covered in scales. The biggest threat to them is that they are hunted by humans for their unique scales. These animals are very shy, so they are hard to keep track of. They have very long tongues, like anteaters, and curl up into a ball once threatened, like a three-banded armadillo.
Green sea turtles were recently moved to “least-concerned species,” meaning that their population is improving. Although many other sea turtles are still on the endangered list. Many sea turtles get tangled up in fish nets, causing them to drown because they can’t come to the surface to breathe. Conservation efforts have had an overall positive effect on sea turtles.
Blue whales are the largest animals on earth, being even bigger than any dinosaur. They’re endangered due to commercial whaling in the 20th century, causing death to around 99% of the population. The numbers in population for the whales are currently rising, with around 10,000 to 25,000 currently remaining. Their calls are the loudest sounds made by an animal.
