Taquería Lopez, Does it Slap or Is It a Pass?
Heyyyyy guys, it’s that time again to review local food, so let’s get down to business. A new taco truck opened up near the Dover Flea Market. The yellow truck sits in the parking lot and has an area in which you can eat. I heard many good things about it, so I decided I should review it. Of course, I brought the love of my life Katie Bruno along with me (between you and I, only brought her because she can drive). Soooo full disclosure Katherine and I were going to review Mindy’s, but that was closed because we completely forgot that businesses are typically closed on Sundays (also we were just too lazy to look online and see if they would be open … whoops). After pondering for approximately 4 seconds, we decided to go to Sammy Sues which ended up being closed as well. That’s when I heard an angelic voice in my head. It told me to go and try the Taquería Lopez food truck, so we decided to go there (because the voices in my head said to, and they are never wrong).
Miss Katie McBruno pulled her red Camry into the parking lot, and we got out of the car. We went up to the truck, and I ordered a chicken burrito with a Coke. Katie didn’t order anything because she had a date later … with another man! It’s kind of silly to keep inviting her since she doesn’t get any food that could be used in my article, but she is my bestest friend ever which means I cannot mentally nor physically go without her. The person who took my order was very nice and gave me my food in a matter of minutes. The Coke I ordered came in a bottle which was super cool, minus the fact I could not get the cap off\; luckily, KT is a pro bottle opener and knew how to open it. Even though there was a tented area to eat, Katalina and I ate in her car because it was so cold.
We opened the tin foil to find a huge burrito. It had all kinds of ingredients including lettuce, rice, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, chicken, and more items that I will not pretend that I know. We chose our halves and took a bite. We were delighted with a creamy, savory flavor that tasted amazing. Katherine Anne Bruno, who “wasn’t that hungry,” ate a quarter of the burrito because it was so good. Ironically, we were just talking about Tex-Mex food in Spanish class. I stated I had never had it before and was informed it tastes bland like authentic Mexican food, but let me tell you, this burrito was not bland. It was packed with flavor (just in case you didn’t get it from the last 3 sentences, the burrito was phenomenal.) Also, random point, drinking Coke from a bottle makes me feel very classy and important as a customer.
Anyways, it’s time for my final thoughts. Obviously, I thought the food was amazing and loved the fact the Coke was in a bottle. The service was quick and friendly. I would love to go back and try other dishes like a quesadilla (wow, isn’t my palette crazy diverse?) On a serious note, their menu is tiny, but I would rather have quality over quantity. Hmmm, I feel like I am forgetting a key component … Oh yeah, the cost of it all. My total was eight dollars. Personally, I feel that is a reasonable price. Of course, I could get a cheaper meal at McDonald’s, but once again, the quality of the burrito is worth the price. Overall, I give Taquería Lopez an eight out of ten! Make sure to stop by the food truck to get some delicioso comida.
