If you are looking for volunteer hours or just want to flex your moral muscles, then helping out at the Tuscarawas Humane Society is a great way to quench that charitable-thirst. If you do not know, the Tuscarawas Humane Society is a nonprofit organization with the primary goal of creating a community where “all animals receive appropriate care, love and attention at all times; are treated with dignity and respect; provided necessary veterinary care; and protected from all forms of cruelty, abuse and neglect.” Essentially, it is a privately owned dog pound/animal shelter that specializes in giving abused or neglected animals appropriate care and a happy life until they are adopted. However, back to what was mentioned before, the organization is always in need of helping hands, and that is why volunteering there is such a good idea. Such helping involves walking the dogs present at the shelter, cleaning the habitats for the cats and dogs, and just playing with the animals in general. In addition to it being a great way to give back to the community, spending time at the society may introduce you to a new best friend you have been needing in your life. Overall, volunteering at the Tuscarawas Humane Society is an extremely noble, kind thing to do, and a great way to help animals in need.
