Items to Make College Living Less of a Pain

Attention seniors! The time to shop for your dorm is fast approaching, so you might be wondering what you might need for your new and cramped living space. I am here to help with these tips and tricks to what to buy for your dorm!

– Mattress topper

Older dorm rooms do provide you with twin XL mattresses, but they can be lumpy and uncomfy. I know if I’m going to be living with a stranger I don’t want my back to be messed up.
– Fluffy rug
Not only do rugs provide comfort for your feet, but they absorb sound for your neighbors below you.
– Microwave
This one is obvious, but this is a necessity. Stouffers frozen mac and cheese? Yes please.
– Mini Keurig
If you are a coffee fanatic like me, this is a necessity. They are small but mighty!
– Bathrobe, slippers, shower caddy
These are all in the same category but all equally essential.
– Bed-chair
In college, you will spend a surprising amount of time in your bed since living space is so limited. Sure, you have your desk, but having one of these cushion chairs will ensure comfort while studying, relaxing, or even gaming.
– Lanyard and wallet combination
Keeping your student ID close to you at all times is essential for living on campus. Also, keeping a few extra bucks on you never hurts. And for girls, it is an easy way to carry mace, alarms, and other self defense tools.
– Two Foldable Laundry Baskets
Being able to easily transport your laundry is an essential. You will probably need two baskets, too. One for regular laundry and one for towels and sweaty clothes.
– Instant-Pot
If you like tea instead of coffee you will definitely need one of these self-boiling pots for easy tea on the go.
– Essential Oil Diffuser
Most colleges don’t allow their residents to light candles, so if you enjoy aromatherapy I would highly recommend a diffuser.
