A1 2 Or 3; the People Preference

When the school bell called us into our classrooms this year, we appreciated what was as close to normal class as we could. For the most part, we enjoyed being in our new school for five days a week. Alright some of us thrived being in school full time once again. When the gradient from full-time, face-to-face class to completely virtual learning was introduced students hoped for what they knew would suit them best. Some crossed their fingers for five days a week and others hoped that they would be logging into google meets all year.

A1
Students that prefer A1 are swayed by sitting in full classrooms, seeing their friends every day, getting closer to normalcy, and what it does to replenish their grades. To A1 advocates it is easier to maintain a steady GPA when they have to be in school every day. When asked how often he liked to be in the classroom Matt Blakley said, “I prefer A1 because that’s when my grades are the best.” Along with him, many feel that working in a semi-professional environment provides a boost in work ethic.

A2
The second learning plan offers a middle ground. Two days of school and a three-day break, or three days of remote learning. The combination of complete school days and easier virtual learning days are perfect conditions for many people to do their best. As a representative of those that thrive when our district is in A2, Olivia Andrews, a freshman at Dover, enjoys the variety of school hours: “A2 is my favorite because I get to sleep in some days but I also get to go to school”.

A3
Lastly, there are those that do best when they only see their classmates digitally. Rushing to log into google meets instead of rushing to beat the bell suits the learning style of these students. They enjoy freedom from dictated school hours. To speak for the voices of the rest of the school Nadine Mohamed comments, “I think it is easiest, and I can do it at my own pace”. The flexibility that the A3 schedule offers is what most strongly appeals to these students.

All of these conflicting and varying opinions hold one common thread. Something that was preferred by everyone was summer, spring, and winter break. It can be agreed that it doesn’t matter how often we have school if we are on break.
