With the 34th season of Dancing With The Stars coming to an end, here is my honest, maybe controversial, opinion on the dancers, dances, and our winners.
The Contestants on season 34 were Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, Jordan Chiles, Dylan Efron, Whitney Leavitt, Corey Feldman, Hilaria Baldwin, Scott Hoying, Andy Richter, Elaine Hendrix, Danielle Fishel, Baron Davis, Lauren Jaregui, Witney Carson, Val Chmerkovskiy, Ezra Sosa, Daniella Karagach, Mark Ballas, Jenna Johnson, Glen Savchenko, Rylee Arnold, Emma Slater, Alan Bersten, Pasha Pashkov, Britt Stewart, and Brandon Armstrong.
On this Season of DWTS, 15 final performances, plus group numbers and past contestant routines, made for a really busy night after ten weeks of weekly performances and eliminations. The judges’ choice dance was a ballroom or Latin dance that the dancers performed, the instant dance challenge was couples improvising a dance routine to a randomly chosen song, and freestyle was a high energy performance.
- The first and second contestants to be kicked off Season 34 were Baron Davis and his partner, Britt Stewart, and Corey Feldman and his partner, Jenna Johnson. Each team had difficulties in each of their dances and low votes, which I wasn’t too sad about, considering I had my favorites. Baron Davis and Britt Stewart danced to “U can’t touch this” by MC Hammer for their Cha-Cha, which did not have enough energy according to viewers. Corey Feldman and Jenna Johnson danced to “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-a-Lot for a memorable Cha-Cha.
- In week 3 the two contestants being voted off were Lauren Jauregui and her partner, Brandon Armstrong. They were voted off due to a score of 18/ 30 from the judges, and their dance lacked intensity. I didn’t like them that much either way.
- In week 4, Hilaria Baldwin and her partner, Gleb Savchenko, were eliminated due to low votes. I liked them and was sad to see them go; however, they just seemed very uninteresting at times, which I believe was why they were voted off.
- In week 5, no one was eliminated. Nothing really to add to this.
- In week 6, Rylee Arnold and Scott Hoying were eliminated, and I was so sad I cried. They were also voted off due to insufficient votes. And not enough charisma was added to their moves.
- In week 7, Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik were kicked off for low votes, but they were not my favorite partners. Most people criticized his ballroom techniques, leaving a huge social media controversy over it.
- In week 8, Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov left due to low votes; This team was one of my favorites, so I was sad to see them go. Danielle leaving held controversy over others saying host Carrie Ann held favoritism, and Danielle was upset over her final dance about impossible standards for women not being shown.
- In week 9, Andy Richter and Emma Slater. I was such a major “Fandy” this season. I was so sad to see them leave, and it made me want to cry. They were voted off due to low votes. Andy was too funny to be eliminated:(.
- The final pair to be eliminated before the finals in week 10 was Whitney Leavitt and her partner, Mark Ballas, because of low votes, which didn’t surprise me. I did not like them at ALL. Whitney was speculated to be voted off because of her inappropriate language during an interview after her dance.
- The winners of Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars were Robert Irwin and Witney Carson. They were so deserving of this. I loved every performance from them. They were such a great pairing. My #1 Favorites this season! Most people were upset they won considering bias, and overall just performance, but I think they showed amazing dance routines and effort over 11 weeks.
My peer and friend Jazzy said, “ I really enjoyed watching DWTS with friends; however, I felt most votes were biased, especially by judges, and everyone deserved a fair shot.”Overall, Season 34 was fun, chaotic, and a whirlwind of emotions, and I believe every vote cast was accurate. I would not change a single thing. This season was a 9.5 out of 10, only because Andy Richter was voted out. I highly recommend this show and specific season to anyone and everyone! It was a great cast and filled with mind-blowing performances that my ego tells me that maybe I could do. This concludes my review of Season 34. Thank you for reading along!
