Are you thinking about Stranger Things, cookies, friends, family, and sleeping in? Well, unfortunately, this is a reality check because Christmas break is over. So, I have decided to write about some pros and cons of coming back to school after the long Christmas break. So here are my favorite reasons for coming back to school and reasons I’d rather be still on break. Then, I also gathered reasons from some of my peers on why they are excited to be back from break and why they would also still rather be on break.
Some of my favorite reasons for coming back to school after Christmas break are getting back into a productive routine, getting to see my friends, and getting back into band and choir. The reason I like getting back into a productive routine is because it symbolizes a bit of calmness in me, and I know what is coming next. I also like going back to school after Christmas break because I get to see my friends who travel over the holiday break or whom I don’t talk to enough to get together over break. Finally, I like going back to school after Christmas break because I get back into my favorite classes, band, and choir.
Some other pros of coming back to school after Christmas break, according to my peers, are things along the lines of seeing people that we can’t see over break, learning new things, social development around other teens, getting back to a normal routine, updates about life, and what certain friends did and got up to over break. I can definitely see why some of my peers said these things, and I agree that it is nice to get back into a good sleep schedule again and to see friends again.
Some of my least favorite things about coming back to school are simply the learning, the getting up early, the homework, and the stress. Firstly, I mentioned a con of coming back to school was the learning, and I am not anti-learning, but after a while, in certain classes, it gets boring and tedious to do all the work. It is also terrible having to get up before double digits. I really feel bad for the kids who have to ride the bus and get up even earlier. Then there is also the homework and stress that comes with school coming back into session.
Some other cons of coming back to school after Christmas break from some of my peers that I asked are that some of the student body is unmotivated to do school work after a relaxing break, not having as much time for hobbies, and school in general, with the workload and getting up early. I can again agree with not having as much time for hobbies, having to change my sleep schedule and the work load that comes with school.
There are several pros and cons of coming back from school, like being able to get back into a normal routine again, but then there is also the stress of school work.
