At Dover High School, we did a survey asking students what fashion pattern they thought would take over in 2026. Some examples were zebra print, stripes, and more. If I had to pick one, my guess would be stripes. Personally, I think you can never go wrong with stripes. The students have narrowed it down to 3 options though; in 3rd we have a tie between plaid and stripes with 9.1% of the votes, next, in 2nd is tortoise shell with 13.6% of the votes, and in 1st we have floral with 31.8% of the votes, with this data lets see some of the reasoning in why people voted for the fashion pattern they thought will take over 2026.

Let’s start off with the tie between plaid and stripes, everywhere on social media, I have been seeing that plaid and stripes will be the fashion pattern of 2026. Students from our school must think the same thing. 2 students voted for plaid, and 2 more students also voted for stripes. While many can agree with either side of this tie, plaid has more details than just plain stripes, although stripes can add great dimensions to a piece of clothing if you need a little extra in the outfit. 

Next, we will go to our second place, which was a tortoise shell print. Now I can say I haven’t seen this one rarely anywhere being a big topic, but most people can somewhat agree with this. Tortoise shell print is very rare to find on anything, and when it is applied to an outfit, it really makes an impression about someone’s style in a good way. Only 3 students voted for the tortoise shell print, and I have to say I agree with this because the tortoise shell is very unique and is very fashionable to wear.

Finally, the winner is the floral print. Where almost all of our votes were for this fashion pattern, floral has always been in fashion and looks amazing with anything you put it with. I definitely think this one will happen for sure at some point whether it’s in 2026 or in the future. This fashion pattern was also a mixture of coquette in 2025 with the bows and everything, floral is also known as a girly print and not so much on guys’ clothes. Most of my friends say that floral will definitely be the fashion pattern of 2026.I guess we will have to see as the year goes on. 

So what do you think will be the fashion pattern of 2026? Some honorable mentions are: snake print, prints with bows on them, polka dot, deer print, and cheetah print. Although all of these are very good guesses and we have our top three, I still am going to go with stripes because it can go with anything, like solid colors and many different shirts.
