The time has come for a thorough review of Dover High School’s homecoming that was held on October 11th! Personally, I can say I had a blast, but if you’d like to know what your peers thought, you should take a look.
Homecoming is something that all grades levels, including seniors look forward to. Senior Kara Lint said, “I thought it was really fun, and I liked the decorations because they went really well with the theme. However, they set up the area differently, so it felt like we were getting moved to a different area, but I think it worked well because it felt like there was more room for my group to be on the “dance floor” without being on top of others.” Another student said, “I thought the theme was cutely decorated. The music could have been way better. It was fun, but some stuff could have been improved.”
I think we can all agree the Hawaiian homecoming was attractive, even if you were skeptical of the theme at first. Can we talk about palm trees? Nice. I also enjoyed the sunglasses, and the leis really added a pop of color and joy to Dover’s Homecoming. You can see the wonderful students and staff who decorate for the dance, making it a fun memory to look back on, even if you aren’t a fan of sparkly dresses or fancy suits. I think we owe the custodians and janitors a thank you for cleaning up as well, because I’ve yet to find even a speck of glitter left in the commons!
Overall, homecoming 2025 is my favorite dance I’ve been to, even if I almost fell down the stairs once or twice, but didn’t we all? I felt like everyone grew six inches with all the heels I saw. Speaking of heels, you know whose heels were my favorite? Delaney Nottinghams! She had an amazing color scheme for her first Hoco!
You know who “nailed” homecoming? Ashtyn Scott! You can never go wrong with a classic French tip! Whether your hair was down or up, we can all agree that Noah Beachy went all out with a pop of green! Can we talk about slow dances? Absolutely adorable. You know who was the cutest couple out there on the dance floor? Jane and Brandon!
The music at homecoming is an unsettled topic; some feel it was bad, and others believe it was good. Personally, I think last year’s music was better. However, in general, it was a mixed bag of reviews. Some are asking for the Mr. Spies/ Mr. Compton duo to return to the DJ booth for our next homecoming dance.
But let’s stop stalling. We all know what we all want to hear: who was best dressed. I personally think Shaelee Balder was dressed to impress. I’ve never seen someone who made white and blue look so good! In all honesty, everyone looked amazing, and I think Hoco 2025 was the best homecoming to date, in my opinion. Even if you don’t agree on it being the best, you can agree that you had a blast dancing and being around great people. Homecoming pictures have been posted on our website, so go check them out!
